Frankly, they are just not durable enough to survive the use that they will be put to. More and more people are buying digital cameras because they are easier to use, and have all type of features that you simply can not get with a film camera. What is great from a parents point of view is that models such as the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera are strong enough to allow even very young children to use them.

This does not mean you are going to master taking great pictures when you first start using a kids digital camera, but they are fun to use, and your child can learn a great deal about photography from using one. With a little help, your child will be able to take amazing pictures.

For most, using a Kids Tough Digital Camera on the auto setting is going to deliver some great pictures; either in the house or outside. The ones outdoors are likely to be the best looking ones though. However, that can even vary if there are clouds in the sky or if you are standing in the shadows. If you are indoors at a large event, taking pictures at twilight, or if you are trying to capture fast motion, you are going to have to do more than use the auto setting.

I know that using a digital camera on the auto setting has great results on my camera, even in some questionable lighting conditions. However, that does not mean the pictures are always what I want them to be. Whilst there are bound to be limitations in a Kids Digital Camera, they can still take great pictures with a little thought and attention to the conditions. Using a digital camera is going to be much more fun if you know a little more about what they can do.

What can be fun is to learn from trial and error. Being digital means that you can dispose of the pictures you don't want at no cost. Why not find an object and ask your child to take pictures from different angles and with their position changing relative to the available light. If you are indoors, you can play with light settings and the flash, to see what difference they make to the picture. Your child can learn a lot this way, and it can still be fun as well.

Once you know that you are using a digital camera correctly, you are going to have more fun with it. You may even find that you can get shots that others can not get. Try and push your child to discover subjects for themselves. Let them take lots of pictures, and praise them wholeheartedly when they deliver the goods.

Here is a Fisher Price Tough Digital Camera video to help you get a better feel for this product.

4GB Memory Cards and Making The Most of Your Your Digital Camera

4GB Memory Cards and Making The Most of Your Your Digital Camera

Today, you can find new and exciting ways to store and transfer the images made by your digital camera. Before the advent of memory cards, the capabilities of digital cameras were very restricted. As time went on and technology improved, the quality of images being produced increased dramatically. Thankfully, so did memory card technology. A 4 Gb memory card is a pretty standard sort of size nowadays.

Another advantage of the improvements in technology is that the memory cards are mass produced and therefore the prices comes down. The cost is fairly insignificant these days, and of course, the cards do not wear out, so you can expect a long life span from them. You may find larger cards available; and by that I mean cards with larger capacity, and you will pay a premium for the added functionality of course, but a 4Gb card will be ample for most people's needs.

Memory cards are also portable between cameras, so if you decide to upgrade your camera for any reason, then your memory card will probably be able to go with the new camera. For top of the range needs though, it may be prudent to stick with manufacturers. For example, it would make sense to use a Sony memory stick with a Sony camera.

One of the real beauties of 4gb memory cards is the ease with which you can port your images to other devices such as computers, USB and card reading technology is such that data sharing is a breeze in this day and age. With photos, you can also take your pictures to the printing booths that are around most malls these days. Even if you prefer to print your own, the transfer between the memory card and the printers are pretty automatic nowadays.

Here is a 4gb memory card video that might be of interest. Not that I recommend that you do this of course, but it is fun to see!

There is one caveat to this, which revolves around the differences between SD memory cards and SDHC memory cards. The SDHC card offers increased data storage over the SD cards, as well as optimized recording performance with support for FAT 32 file formats. In addition, SDHC cards use speed "class" ratings known as Class 2, 4 and 6 that deliver a minimum data transfer rate for optimum performance with SDHC devices. Although the two cards are identical in size, the SDHC card is designed differently and is only recognized by SDHC host devices. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on the device to which the card will be applied.
